Mississauga, ON (28 November, 2024) ---
The province’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of an 18-year-old female earlier today in Ottawa.

Preliminary information suggests the following:
  • At approximately 1 a.m. on November 28, 2024, an individual contacted police out of concern for the well-being of her friend, an 18-year-old female.
  • An Ottawa Police Service officer was able to speak with the 18-year-old by phone, at which time she indicated she wanted to end her life.
  • Officers made their way to her apartment building located in the area of Murray street and Beausoleil Drive.
  • While officers were at the door of the teenager’s apartment unit, other officers attended the base of the apartment building where they located her. Lifesaving efforts were commenced, but the woman was pronounced deceased shortly after.

Three investigators and two forensic investigators have been assigned to the case. The post-mortem is scheduled for tomorrow.
