SIU Concludes Investigation into Sudbury Collision Involving Pickup Truck that was Being Pursued by Police Moments Prior
Case Number: 24-OVI-078
A 30-year-old woman was seriously injured in Sudbury on February 21, 2024, when the vehicle she was operating was struck by a pick-up truck. As the pick-up truck had been pursued by a Greater Sudbury Police Service officer moments before the collision, the SIU was notified of the incident and initiated an investigation. On his assessment of the evidence, SIU Director Joseph Martino determined there were no reasonable grounds to believe that the officer committed a criminal offence in connection with the collision and the woman’s injuries.
