Case Number: 18-OCI-282

Mississauga, ON (23 September, 2019) ---
On September 19, 2018, a York Regional Police officer was performing speed enforcement in the area of Weston Road and Laskay Lane when he clocked a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on Weston Road. When the officer attempted to stop the 51-year-old female operator of the motorcycle, the woman lost control of the motorcycle and she landed on the roadway. The Interim Director of the Special Investigations Unit, Joseph Martino, has determined there are no reasonable grounds to lay criminal charges against the officer in relation to the serious injuries sustained by the woman.
