Investigation Concluded into Man’s Broken Left Wrist After London Arrest

Case Number: 25-OCI-365

Mississauga, ON (9 January, 2026) ---
The Director of the Special Investigations Unit, Joseph Martino, found no reasonable grounds to believe a London Police Service officer committed a criminal offence in connection with the fractured left wrist suffered by a 28-year-old man. In the early hours of September 15, 2025, the man was stopped by an officer while for riding a bicycle without a light in the area of Brough Street and University Crescent.

The man tried to flee on the bicycle. The officer attempted to arrest the man after learning he was subject to an arrest warrant on charges of theft, assaulting police and resisting police. The man tried to run away when the officer tazed him in the back. He was handcuffed and later taken to hospital.
