Mississauga, ON (3 July, 2024) ---
On July 2, 2024, Waterloo Regional Police Service went to a bridge at Concession Street and Water Street in Cambridge after receiving a report of a male standing on the railing of the bridge. Officers located the 17-year-old male, who was determined to be in crisis, and attempted to negotiate with him. Shortly after, the teenager fell from the bridge and into the Grand River below. He was rescued but found with vital signs absent. CPR was initiated and the teenager was transported to hospital.

On July 3, 2024, while in hospital, the youth was pronounced deceased.

Three investigators and one forensic investigator continue to investigate the case. At this time, one subject official and six witness officials have been designated. The post-mortem is scheduled for tomorrow morning.
